Classes
Our curriculum is quite unique as it offers both classical and contemporary styles of dance. This introduces students to a wide variety of styles from various nations and cultures.
ballet
Ballet is the foundation of all dance forms and will maximize technique and longevity in a career of dance. It provides grace, poise, and technique needed to be proficient in all other areas of dance. Ballet classes will help dancers with posture, flexibility, fitness, balance, self-discipline, and self-confidence.
jazz
Jazz dance is an exploration of style and presentation. Classes emphasize musicality and body alignment, conditioning, stretch and strengthening, rhythm and stylization as well as fun and innovative choreography.
MUSICAL THEATRE
Musical Theatre is a theatrical dance style that includes dance technique and acting to songs from Broadway and musicals. These dance numbers usually consist of a story being told or a character being formed.
POINTE
Pointe is an advanced extension of ballet. Dancers begin at the barre and progress to center work, turns and across the floor.
hip hop
Hip-hop is an upbeat urban style of dance that is forever evolving. This high energy class consists of rap, hip-hop and pop sounds, focusing on musicality and rhythm.
FLAMENCO
Flamenco is a highly-expressive, Spanish dance form. Flamenco is a dance characterized by hand clapping, percussive footwork, and intricate hand, arm, and body movements. Dance also incorporates use of castenets, fans, and shawls.
TAP
An American dance discipline for rhythm development, aerobic fitness, and focus, providing an infinite range of styles and interpretation. Tap styles have become increasingly varied from classic American to contemporary Rhythm.
contemporary
Contemporary combines ballet and modern techniques with musical and emotional expression with a strong focus on modern techniques (contractions and release, off-center balances and suspension) as well as musicality and self-expression.
SALSA
Salsa is a popular form of social dance that originated in the Caribbean. The movements of salsa have origins in Cuban Son, cha-cha-cha, mambo, Puerto Rican bomba and plena, and other dance forms. The dance, along with salsa music, originated in the mid-1970s in New York. The dance is traditionally danced with a partner, but can also be learned solo.
AFRO CARIBBEAN
Afro-Carribean dance is a dynamic fusion of dances and rhythms across the Caribbean Islands. The class consists of a challenging warm-up, with a concentration on breathing and undulation exercises, along with across-the-floor and open dance combinations. The unique movement, routines and rhythms introduced in class will require dancers to think more intently about space, time and musicality. This class unites dance, rhythm, and song.
ACRO
Acro teaches students courage, strength, and flexibility! Students will learn basic tricks such as crab walks, inside/outs, forward & back rolls, cart wheels, head & hand stands starting in level 1, when a student achieves front & back walk overs they will then be promoted into level 2 to conquer aerials, front, and back handsprings, and more!
LYRICAL
Lyrical is a style that embodies various aspects of ballet, jazz, acrobatics, and Modern dance while still maintaining its autonomy. It is associated with expressive movements that accompany the lyrics of the song. The style is usually danced at a faster pace than ballet but not as fast as jazz.
CONDITIONING
